Training: PERSONAL PLANNING FOR EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER VULNERABLE GROUPS – FROM OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY TO EMPLOYMENT

The third post-qualification training for social professionals with long years of work experience, was held today, co-organized with the Institute for Social Affairs.

The training “From occupational therapy to employment of persons with disabilities” was actively attended by more than 65 participants, representatives of public and private social services providers, day care and rehabilitation centers, Employment Agency, social professionals from MLSP, who had the opportunity to advance their skills and capacities to develop structured approaches to improving the activation, social inclusion and employment of persons with disabilities and other groups far removed from labor market integration.

The trainer, Stojan Andonov, an expert with extensive experience, presented the concept of occupational therapy, as well as the types of occupational therapy and their characteristics: therapy for daily life activities and work-oriented occupational therapy.

The participants, through practical exercises, gave their views on who would be stakeholders in providing occupational therapy, in order to realize it, to determine for which target group what type of occupational therapy is appropriate.
