Virtual Study Visit: Valakupiai Rehabilitation Centre in Lithuania, April 2021
In order to create opportunity for exchange of experience and insight to positive models and best practices of community based social services, the project “Supporting modernization and deinstitutionalization of social services” is organizing Virtual Study Visit (VSV) for 20-25 social professionals and public and private service providers from Republic of North Macedonia.
In a course of three days, in April 2021, participants will virtually visit the Valakupiai Rehabilitation Centre in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The main goal of organizing this VSV is to provide an overview of the DE-Institutionalization process in Lithuania, to advance understanding and knowledge and built skills and competences of participants on the continuum of Community Based Services for Persons with Disabilities: Day Care services, Vocational & Employment services, and to advance understanding and knowledge and built skills and competences of the participants on methods and tools for: Service Quality and Innovation and User Cantered Approach.
The virtual visitors, 20 to 25 of them, will be invited form public and private service providers: day care, rehab, home care, and from related institutions: Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Centres for Social Works, Institute for Social Activities, local governments, etc.
The VSV will be organized for three days (on 14th, 20th and 27th April 2021), with two thematic sessions every day, via Zoom live sessions with Presentations, Videos, Q&A. The participants will be introduced to the portfolio of the Valakupiai Rehabilitation Centre, have the opportunity to see the video tour through the centre, be introduced to history of deinstitutionalization process in Lithuania, as well as model of supported employment and innovations in employment services, listen to users testimonies, vocational rehabilitation service and Covid 19 impact to persons with disabilities in Lithuania.
