Second event for building municipal capacities: Development of local social services
Yesterday, at h. Marriott in Skopje, we held the second event for training and capacity building on the topic “Development of local social services”, organized together with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the European Delegation, in cooperation with ZELS.
Representatives from 24 municipalities had the opportunity to exchange practical experiences from the mapping of needs assessment for social services in the municipalities, received practical guidelines for establishing priorities for services in the local social plan after the mapping/assessment of needs, and exchange experiences on the best practices in the country for establishment of services using the internal municipal budget.
This is the second of three planned events to support local governments to map local needs and existing social services, develop local social plans and new community services, identify social service providers and offer sustainability and further development of already established services that are currently financed through grants.
In the second part of the event, the best practices in the country were presented for the establishment of services using the internal municipal budget, in several thematic discussions: Reception centre for women victims of violence and personal assistance for students with disabilities, Educational assistants for students with disabilities and counselling centre for victims of domestic violence and counselling centre for victims of domestic violence.
The event is attended by representatives from the municipalities of Bitola, Kumanovo, Centar Župa, Kavadarci, Veles, Tetovo, Prilep, Shtip, Kochani, Strumica, Berovo, Sveti Nikole, Aerodrom, Butel, Gazi Baba, Kisela Voda, Gjorche Petrov, Chair, Karposh, Centar , Arachinovo, Vrapcishte and Bosilovo.
