Workshop: Code of Civil Society Organizations

The informal platform for transparency and accountability, which is composed of 30 organizations, on March 10, 2021, held a workshop on the preparation of the Code of Civil Society Organizations. Improving internal operations, imposing a good standard in the sector and encouraging continuous improvement of organizations that will increase the trust of citizens and donors in civil society organizations are the key benefits for organizations from the establishment and adoption of the Code.

The Team Leader of the project “Supporting Modernization and Deinstitutionalization of Social Services”, Maria Marinakou gave a detail presentation on the European Frame of the Quality of Social Services and how can be used in the development of the Code of Ethics of the Civil Society Organizations. She stressed the importance of service quality in providing social services. According to her, state institutions already recognize civil society organizations as service providers. In addition, organizations largely support groups of citizens and work to protect their rights and freedoms. Therefore, it is especially important that the future Code focus on end users. Marinakou presented three models of quality in the provision of social services applied in the European Union.
